Different...yet familiar
The most dramatic change to PC Study Bible is the completely new look and feel.
The redesigned desktop (also called the "interface") makes it easier for you to study the Bible by providing simple, intuitive, consistent access to all aspects of your PC Study Bible library. We've changed how it looks and works -- making it significantly easier to
use, while also providing greater flexibility and power for your personal Bible study. Simple, yet elegant, graphics cause the interface to disappear into the background, making the
content of your Bible study the "star of the show."
While the interface is different, the most important things haven't changed. PC Study Bible Version 4 still focuses on the Bible first, integrating every reference work so that your Bible
study becomes even easier and more effective.
We're confident that PC Study Bible Version 4 is the best Bible study software we've ever created!

Plenty of room on this newly designed desktop
The new navigation panel
(see below) is the heart of the Version 4 interface. This panel is the gateway through which all access to your PC Study Bible library takes place. In it, you
will find collections of reference works (like all of your Bibles, commentaries and dictionaries), your search tools, your SmartReference links -- this is the primary tool you will use to
navigate the vast depths of the materials contained in your PC Study Bible library.
This new design gives you back valuable workspace! You
decide the layout of your desktop, whether you prefer your windows full-sized or "minimized" -- you can even set them to automatically move out of the way. Switch to any
available reference work with a single click -- reducing the number of clicks it takes you to find what you're looking for. And a persistent outline of all available cross references and SmartReferences
is always there so you can check out one related reference work after another without retracing your steps or losing your place.

Stay organized, no matter how many references you consult
When you begin your Bible study in Version 4, you'll be amazed at how effortless it is
to keep track of where you are. That's because each window has a "tab" at the top, much like a file folder so you can easily
see what's open, switch between windows, and close one when you finish with it.
Not only that, imagine yourself absorbed in a study and becoming distracted with a specific
tidbit of information. Every tab has "launch new" button which allows you to use it as the starting point for another branch of your Bible study! Should you wish to retrace your steps, we added "Back"
and "Forward" buttons, much like your favorite Internet browser, so that you can return to where you were with a single click of your mouse.

Focus or Explore the choice is yours!
One of the most significant new features in PC Study Bible Version 4 is the introduction of the Focus and
Explore modes. These allow you to instantly change the behavior of how the software works, depending on how you prefer to study. Now you can
decide what happens when you follow a link from where you are currently to some related content.
If Explore mode is like changing from one channel to another on your TV set, then Focus
mode is like having picture-in-picture technology, where you keep your favorite channel in view while viewing other channels at the same time! For example, in Explore mode, if you begin
with your Bible open to John 15:5, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit
" and decide to look at a commentary on this verse, when you
open the commentary, it appears as a new, full-size tabbed window, with your Bible in a full-size tabbed window behind it. Each additional reference work you open in this mode
becomes a new, full size tabbed window, layered one upon the other. Explore lets you see everything you have open with a single glance at the tabs and navigate from one window to the other very easily.
In the
Focus mode, opening a commentary will divide your screen in half, leaving the Bible passage in view in the left panel (the focus of your study), while placing the commentary
information (and all additional reference works you open) in the right panel. You keep in view whatever you want to be the focus of your study -- navigating through the reference works then
becomes a matter of using your "Back" and "Forward" buttons (just like browsing the Internet). In addition, at any time you may toggle between these modes with a single click of the mouse
-- you now have the power not only to decide what you want to study, but also the way you want to study!

What will happen to my current library?
You will not need to worry about your current library, any Version 3 add-ons you may have purchased or any footnotes you may have created, since these will be converted automatically
when you upgrade -- you won't lose a thing. In fact, we've created a "setup helper" which leads you through the conversion process, so that you can set your favorite Bible version, text
sizes, styles and colors and much more, before you even launch Version 4 for the first time.
In addition, you will still be able to create you own content with the Biblesoft Authoring System and exchange content online at www.biblesoftexchange.com. Preparing and printing your studies remains simple with our macros for Microsoft Word. And our rapidly growing list of available titles makes it easier than ever for you to find exactly what interests you, as you continue to study God's Word.
Now's the time to upgrade!
